Gift Planning

Planned giving or gift planning are terms used to describe techniques that help donors make tax-wise decisions when preparing donations. We also often hear these types of donations called legacy gifts. The most common type of legacy gift is a gift in a will, but there are other strategic and useful ways that enable donors to maximize their current or future tax positions.

Legacy gifts are part of estate planning. Estate planning can mean the current state of your financial affairs, or it can also mean what your financial affairs will be like in the future or after you have passed on.

During our lifetimes, and at the end of our lives, we all contribute to the betterment of our city, province, and country when we pay our taxes. However, by making charitable gifts, either now or at the end of our lives, we can chose how to make a difference, rather than having the government decide on our behalf.

The Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba is proud to offer a full range of strategic charitable giving options as well as staff expertise to help you with your gift or estate planning. Please explore this site to find the options that are best for you, or contact our office at 204-787-4400 or info@goodbear.ca.

The most important decision that you will make in your gift or estate planning is how you will leave your legacy and make a difference. We would be pleased to show you the many ways your support can help a sick child through The Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.
